ROLLING STONES PHOTO FROM PHILLY: MICK JAGGER DANCES ACROSS JFK STADIUM STAGE NEXT TO SECURITY GUARDS (9/26/81)

On many occasions Spectrum Arena ushers and security personnel were asked to work the stadium shows at JFK Stadium. In this photo, Mick Jagger dances to the far wings of the stage, where the security guards were positioned. The man on the far right was a Spectrum usher, whose full-time day job was driving a truck for UPS. Fred was a quiet man, but very kind. He was very accommodating to me when I began taking photos there. Fred died a short time after this show, while working in his back yard he fell from a roof or tree. May his memory live in the gentleness of his soul. © Roger Barone 1981

  1. Great shots! What amazing photos

    • Thanks for your kind words…make sure you read some of the stories too, especially the one about trying to sneak into the 1989 Steel Wheels Press Conference in Grand Central Station. Best always…

  2. That is me in the center! So cool that I found this! I still have the Security Handbook they gave to work the show too.

    • Time were you working for Spectaguard. There are so many responses to my blog that I’ve never seen. I’m getting back to regular posting. Thanks for visiting my site. Sincerely appreciated
