RARE ROLLING STONES ROAD CREW PHOTO: BACKSTAGE BUTTON AND SWEAT SHIRT JFK STADIUM (9/24/81)

Members of the Rolling Stones’ production crew work on the stage setup at JFK Stadium the day before the Stones begin their 1981 “Tattoo You” Tour in Philly. Instead of the typical cloth or paper backstage passes, Bill Graham, the Stones’ tour manager, opted for buttons. A backstage button pass is visible just above the tongue on this photo. Graham also handled the tours of CSNY, Bob Dylan and George Harrison in 1974; buttons were used on those tours too.© Roger Barone 1981
