VINTAGE CLASSIC ROCK PHOTO: LEGENDARY PROMOTER BILL GRAHAM OVERSEES CONSTRUCTION OF ROLLING STONES’ “TATTOO YOU” TOUR STAGE (9/24/81)

Legendary rock ‘n’ roll promoter, Bill Graham, oversees the setup of the Rolling Stones’ “Tattoo You” Tour stage at JFK Stadium. The Stones arrived later in the afternoon for a sound check that ran into the night. Bill Graham promoted several tours for the Stones in ’72 and ’75 before being relieved in favor of Michael Cohl. Graham died in a helicopter crash in 1991 at sixty years old. © roger barone 1981
